10 Minutes With Tash Bradley
In our latest 10 Minutes With we spoke to the effervescent and oh-so-charming Tash Bradley, Director of Interior Design at Lick - the new designer paint and wallpaper brand you really need to know.
When we sat down with Tash, the first words that came out of her mouth were to apologise for the "slight orange glow" emanating from her zoom screen. A last minute (and incredibly necessary) fake tan application that would need to be washed off after our call. We think she looked great.
So, first question which do you prefer? Pale Ale or Lager?
This might be blasphemy and I know people reading this are going to think “Oh my god, I can't believe she just said that” but I love a lager shandy.
I honestly can’t tell you how much I love a lager shandy. It’s just so refreshing.
You know what? We could get on board with that. Next question, who would you love to have a beer with dead or alive?
David Attenborough. I know everyone probably says that, but feel like I know him personally already and that I'd be really comfortable in his company. But also I just want to listen to every story of his travels across the world.
You can’t go wrong with David Attenborough! So you've become a landlord of a pub. So it's your pub, your rules? What's the first rule you'll put into place?
Me and my husband genuinely want to own a pub one day and if I had one rule I actually think it would be that no phones or laptops are allowed.
I would love people to actually come in and switch off, but also talk to the locals or other people or just generally engage with one another rather than just being sat on their phones.
We love that. It's Friday night in your pub with no phones and no laptops, everyone is playing games and talking. What’s on the jukebox?
Hmmm OK this is quite cliché but first song would be Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen... it’s just such a classic.
So switching careers, you’re now a high fashion designer. What trend are you bringing back?
Oh, okay. This is actually a trend I want to bring back in interiors. So it's the 80s bold clashing colours and pattern is what I bring back.
That's such a good answer. So this question is slightly deeper what is a quote or mantra in general that you try to live your life by?
You know what? I don't actually live my life by any sort of quote or mantra. If I if there was one it would be, “Be kind to others”. My husband lives by that one so I’ll share his.
Lovely! Okay, carrying on the trend of deep questions - pork scratchings or lentil crisps?
I love both but pork scratchings? Unbelievably good. Only though if you get like a small crispy bit.
That’s the first time someone’s answered with pork scratchings! So, tricky one but what’s the least important thing that's very important to you right now?
I love these questions. They make me really think! Hmmm I think watering my plants and trying to keep them alive.
Wow, Jono had the same answer as well! Now, what's your go to activity when you need to get some kind of headspace?
Okay, my husband is really into the Wim Hof Method as well as meditation and yoga and stuff. I’m not, but he said to me one day “trust me, Wim Hof will change your life.”
So for Christmas I got my husband an ice bath, and honestly since January we’ve tried to either do cold showers, wild swimming in cold water at the weekend or ice baths. And it genuinely is the best way to get some headspace!
Amazing. This isn’t really a question but a bit of a challenge to you. We ask all of our guests to do something that they've never done before in the next 24 hours. We want to know what do you want to do with your day?
You know what? I’ve always wanted to see Coldplay live. Even though I can’t seen live in the next 24 hours I’m going to buy tickets to see them!
