'Behind the B' with Days Brewing

'Behind the B' with Days Brewing

It’s officially B Corp month & this year’s theme is ‘Behind the B’. The guys at B Corp are encouraging brands to share a little bit more about what it means to be B Corp Certified, and why it matters. So here goes.

When Mike & Duncan founded Days in 2020, they knew from the beginning that they wanted the values of B Corp to run through the business. A core principle of a B Corp is the “triple bottom line” which reflects the need to consider the impact of our decisions on people, profit and the planet.

A year on and a lot of work later, we achieved B Corp status, joining the likes of Patagonia, Innocent & Allbirds in using business as a force for good.

Behind the Bottle:

Our beer is, and always has been, brewed in Scotland. We take huge amounts of pride in being able to be a part of a rich heritage of British brewing. We work closely with a family-owned brewery that’s been around for more than 250 years. We use locally sourced, natural ingredients with our water sourced from the Lammermuir Hills.

The materials that we use are 100% recyclable, from our cardboard boxes & glass bottles to our gummed paper tape that we use to seal our packaging. We know how important it is to remove as much plastic as possible from our supply chain.

Behind the Beer:

Our team are awesome.

Yep, we said it.

But seriously, behind our beer is a team of close-knit and passionate people who care about creating a future where beer doesn’t have to hold us back.

The team are certified Mental Health First Aiders, something that we think is crucial to creating a safe, healthy and connected work environment.

The team also all have share options in the business - making everyone an owner and fully invested in making Days the best 0.0% brand in the world.

Behind the Brand:

The values that form the backbone of our brand are designed to deliberately drive change, with 2% of our sales going towards progressive mental health initiatives. We call this ‘Days Duty’ & it mirrors the Duty that alcohol companies pay in tax to the Government. It’s a fundamental part of our mission to help our community lead happier, healthier lives – and we want every Days sold to have a positive impact.

Previously, we’ve supported charities such as ‘Mind’ and ‘Run for Heroes’. This year, we have some very exciting things in store for our Days Duty initiative, and we can’t wait to share it all with you. Keep an eye on our Instagram for updates and announcements between now and the end of the month!

If you have any questions on our B Corp certification (& anything else for that matter) drop us a line at hey@daysbrewing or DM us @daysbrewing on Instagram.

Good News pop up store:

Before you go, it’s worth mentioning that B Corp launched their first store in London this week. ‘Good News’ pop-up shop showcases brands that help you shop cleaner and kinder. The store opens from Monday - Saturday between 10am - 6pm and will run until March 31st.

It’s located in the heart of central London, at 10A Rathbone Place, W1T 1HP. It’s worth checking out if you want to discover brands like us
that have positive impact and continuous improvement at their core. Nice.
